This information is used where necessary to operate the website securely and reliably.

When you contact us

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address and the contents of your message, in order to respond to your enquiry.

Please only provide information that is relevant to your enquiry.

When you make a booking

Bookings are managed through Lodgify. During the booking process, personal information necessary to manage your reservation may be collected, including:

  • name and contact details;

  • arrival and departure dates;

  • number of guests and information relating to your stay;

  • billing and payment-related information; and

  • any additional information you choose to provide in connection with your booking.

We process this information in order to manage your reservation, provide your accommodation and associated services, communicate with you about your stay and meet applicable legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

Lodgify acts as a data processor for booking data processed on our behalf. Its current terms expressly identify the accommodation provider/customer as data controller and Lodgify as processor for this service data.

3. Why do we process your data?

Depending on the circumstances, we process personal data on the following legal bases:

Performance of a contract or steps before entering into a contract - for booking enquiries, reservations and providing your stay.

Legal obligations - where we are required to retain or provide information for accounting, tax, registration or other legal purposes.

Legitimate interests - where necessary to operate, maintain and secure our website and business, provided those interests do not override your rights and freedoms.

Consent - where processing requires your consent, such as non-essential cookies or analytics where applicable. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

These are among the legal bases recognised under the GDPR, and where consent is relied upon it must be informed, freely given and withdrawable.

4. Website hosting and Squarespace

This website is built and hosted using Squarespace.

Squarespace may process technical and usage information necessary to provide, secure and operate the website. This may include information such as IP addresses, browser and device information and website activity.

Necessary technical cookies may also be used to provide core website functionality.

Further information about cookies and similar technologies used on this website is provided in our Cookie Policy.

5. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website, for example which pages are visited and how visitors interact with the site.

Google Analytics may process information including device and browser information, approximate location derived from technical data, website interactions and identifiers associated with the service.

Where consent is required, Google Analytics will only be activated after you have made the appropriate choice through our cookie settings.

You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie settings available on the website.

The Italian Data Protection Authority distinguishes analytics from strictly necessary technical cookies and sets specific conditions for when analytics may be treated similarly to technical cookies.

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies necessary for the operation of the site and, with your consent where required, for analytics.

Essential cookies may be used without prior consent where they are necessary to provide the website or a service requested by you. Other tracking technologies are subject to the applicable consent requirements.

For information about the cookies used, their purposes, duration, providers and how to manage your preferences, please see our Cookie Policy.

7. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to external websites, including Instagram.

When you follow an external link, you leave our website. The processing of personal data on the external website is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.

8. Who receives your data?

Where necessary, personal data may be shared with service providers that help us operate the website, manage bookings and run the accommodation, including:

  • Squarespace, for website hosting and operation;

  • Lodgify, for booking management;

  • Google, in connection with Google Analytics where enabled; and

  • professional or technical service providers where necessary for accounting, legal, IT or other business purposes.

We may also disclose personal information where required by law or by a competent authority.

We do not sell your personal data.

9. International data transfers

Some of the service providers we use may process personal data outside Italy or the European Economic Area.

Where personal data is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law will be used.

Lodgify's current terms specifically state that service data may be transferred or stored outside the EEA and incorporate its Data Processing Addendum for GDPR-covered data.

10. How long do we keep your data?

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal requirements.

In particular:

Email enquiries are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and any subsequent correspondence.

Booking and transaction information may be retained for longer where necessary to comply with accounting, tax, accommodation or other statutory requirements.

Website and analytics information is retained according to the applicable service settings and your cookie preferences.

Where there is no longer a legitimate or legal reason to retain personal data, it will be deleted or anonymised.
